Reinstalling Windows I formatted the wrong partition, D: with all my project archives instead of C:. Quick format, NTFS, nothing written to it since. Realistic odds of getting the data back?
Is it possible to recover data from a formatted hard disk partition?

Quick format with nothing written after is the best case. It only rebuilds the file table, your data blocks are still sitting there.
1
Do not install anything to D: and do not let Windows index it.
2
Run SysTools Hard Drive Recovery from C:, deep scan the formatted partition. Formatted-drive mode reconstructs the old file table.
3
Recover to a different drive, never back onto D: while scanning it.
In this scenario recovery rates run very high, often nearly everything with names and folders intact.
98 percent back with folder structure. The missing sliver was temp files I never needed. Solved.
