Retiring an old Windows XP machine that still runs Outlook Express. All the mail sits in DBX files. New machine has Outlook 2016. Direct import keeps throwing an error partway through. How do I get this mail across cleanly?

Outlook 2016 dropped native DBX import, so the error is expected. SysTools DBX to PST Converter reads the DBX files straight off the old drive and writes a PST that Outlook 2016 imports without fuss. Folder structure and attachments carry over.
Copy the whole Outlook Express store folder first. On XP it hides under Documents and Settings in Local Settings, Application Data, Identities.
Converted 12 DBX files to one PST. All mail visible in Outlook 2016. Solved.
