Conduct Policy

It is the policy of Carolina FC (CFC) that its members shall conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike and positive manner when representing CFC at games, tournaments, practices and other CFC related activities. No member of CFC shall act in a way, which brings discredit to CFC. CFC members are defined as players, coaches, trainers, parents, guardians and other CFC supporters.

The following acts by a CFC member shall be in violation of this policy:

Hostile or discourteous treatment toward referees, officials, and opposing or home coaches, players and fans ;
Coaching, directing, instructing, or berating of players from the sidelines;
Foul or abusive language or gestures;
Violent conduct;
Theft or acts of vandalism;
Provoking or inducing a confrontation;
Possession of a firearm;
Possession/consumption of alcohol at game or practice;
Possession of illegal drugs;
Stepping on to field of play without referee’s permission;
Any other act that brings discredit to the player, team and/or Club.

It is the responsibility of the head coach, trainers, and the team manager, to insure that all members of the team uphold this policy.

Procedures

In order to insure compliance with this policy the following procedures shall be instituted, team coaches shall:

Exercise their authority to substitute any player who is in violation of this policy.
Exercise their authority to substitute any player whose parent is in violation of this policy.
Exercise their authority to direct that any non-player member of the Club be removed from the area of the field if that individual is in violation of this policy.

Penalties

Repeated or serious violation of this policy may result in penalties including oral or written reprimand, monitoring of future behavior by an outside official, probationary status, discipline of the coach up to and including termination, or recommendation of dissolution of the team to the league. Any sanction shall be imposed only after appropriate warning, notice of alleged violation and hearing before the appropriate officials.
